The VSS1R is a solar candle in red glass. A large solar surface in the lid gathers light during the day, and the candle glows day and night, up to 1000 days in all. There are no batteries to buy, nothing to switch on and no return trip when the light goes out. Red glass gives the warm glow of a votive lamp.
The housing is glass with oblique lines, resistant to water, moisture and wind, and at 0.58 kg heavy enough to stand firm in an exposed place. Put it where the lid gets at least four hours of daylight; if the panel gets dusty, wipe it clean.
